Health Insurance?

What's the best health insurance I can get. Also, what's the difference between HMO, PPO, and network? I'm 19 years old, I have smoked, and still do. I'm either wanting coverage for myself or for my girlfriend and my daughter. They're both on Medicaid, so I'm needing to discuss them being covered by Medicaid still or my plan. Also, what's a deductible?

you need to call up some insurance places.... they are all diff state to state as we have diff regulations

Yeah, I know that much. I've looked at plans through eHealthInsurance.com and have got rates for my area, for my daughter, my girl, and me. I just need to know what most of this stuff means. I've been on Medicaid my whole life, so I don't have any idea what these things mean. I know I need to do something, 'cause I have very bad back problems, and a mental disability. I can't just go on without any insurance. (Age 19 is when Medicaid here stops.)

the deductible is the amount you have to pay before the insurance will cover any of the expense.

That's what I figured it what, but I wasn't sure. The only plans that have a good rate that I could easily make payments on have a $2500-$5000 deductible. Should there be better choices, maybe some local insurance companies? I can't pay that much having a new born baby. All my money is going to her.

you need to look at the details of the plan but it maybe that the deductible doesnt come into effect until hospitalization or other pricey procedures...

we recently picked up some health care (not including dental) from unicare for about $230 a month. that covers my wife, my daughter and myself. (none of us have/do smoke or drink or have a history or illness however we are about 5 years older than you) we also used ehealthinsurance.com to find our policy. our policy has a $2,000 deductible but also has $25 doctor visits and $50 specialist visits. $10 for generic prescriptions etc...
