why is it some hu's make the subs sound louder but not hit hard?

and some hu's make the subs hit harder but don't sound loud?

hmmm interesting. could be due to signal output strengths, some HU sub output doesn't carry same voltage as front/rear outs.

it's usually because of the hu preout voltages, but may have to do with how much +db for the BASS this hu can put out...

alpines are usually very weak while Pioneers and Panasonic are WAY too exagerated

The eq curve is different deck to deck. Its preout voltage as well.

My HU I believe makes it hit harder and sound louder.
