Headunit's Subwoofer Gain

My HU has a separate gain for the subwoofer outputs that ranges from -6 to 6. When I set my amplifier gain, what should the HU gain be set at?

Wait.. So you're saying that I should NOT have it set at 0? that would be like lowering my gains? B/C I was under the impression that you would want it at 0 b/c it puts a "+" infront of the number if it above 0 which makes me think that you're increasing the current power given to the sub.

just ur gain will be a lil higher if u leave it at 0

set at 0 if using an eq with sub volume control.

go by how every thing sounds and feels. im at +3 do u have a crossover other then the amp it self

xover built-in with the HU and standard amp's xover

I go full tilt. Set your gain to the max without clipping. Then full tilt is as loud as your allowed. I always found myself in the negatives for moderate bumping.

what im learning here is just go with works for ya in your case sounds right. dont kill your subs man. u might end up with pioneers like me hahahh

I have an alpine that goes from 0 - 15 I kept it at 15 others have mentioned they did the same.

I say set your gain at 0, that way some songs have much more, or much less bass then others you can adjust accordingly....

I have mine set at -4, but then again mine goes from +4 to -25
