headunit turns off speakers

if i turn my volume up to loud my pioneer headunit stops my 4 speakers but still sends the signals to my woofer? it just recently started to do this i checked the ground and such any ideas what is wrong? still plays bass out of sub fine just the speakers stop and the headunit is still lit up

Do you have your speakers on an amp? if so the amp is probably going into protect from over heating, voltage drop, or maybe some kind of clipping protector?

If you have them running off the head unit the same thing is probably happening
