Headunit/Speaker problem. left side doesnt fade

Eclipse cd4000 HU running to an eclipse 2ch powering DD comps. when i fade to the right, the speakers dont play. when i fade to 0 they both play, and when i fade all the way to the left they both play. ive checked RCA's and wire connections to see if they were loose or touching and it seemed okay. Any ideas?
