two re sx 12s (one had a blown coil which was unknown at the time) on a mm3000.1 in a box tuned to 32hz in an extended cab ranger... was at 144.4 sealed up or something close to that...

Get on a dB meter.

The most respected/used meter currently is the new TL (Term-lab)

Most big time car audio shops will have one, but there are a lot without them, especially in smaller areas (my area).

Earlier, I was just asking if anyone who had headunit skip problems if they knew from a meter at what decibel level their skipping occurred.
