Headunit crossover necessary?

Something that's been juggling around my mind is whether I need to have the crossover set on my headunit/amp if I have passive crossovers? I have infinity components and wonder if I'm doing some kind of injustice.

The passive on the componet only covers the mid to tweeter filter. Not the HPF for the mid
