headlights dimming

took cap off system voltage is higher but lights flash like i'm the police. with cap on voltage was lower but no dimming lights. what could be the problem? thanks in advance.

already did that with 0 gauge ap1800

all powe and ground cables are 0 gauge. 4 gauge to amp which is only a foot from distribution block only runnig amp at 2ohm

maybe a bad battery or the alt maybe on its last leg

I checked the battery its resting at 12.5 volts

14.1 which is weird its higher without cap but lights dim very bad but voltage was at 13.6 with cap and no lights dimming

you may just want to live with the cap

or add a secondary battery/powercell. Even something small like an HC600..

Yeah who needs those. End up putting factory bat back in 2400 won't hold a charge. Put factory back in is it a agm or lead acid can't find and thing on it.
