head units led's stay on when keys not in the ignition

i took out the factory radio of 00 VW jetta and wired up the aftermarket cd player to the wiring harness. after hooking it up the cd player works perfectly fine, But when i take out the key and close the doors the led lights on the cd player are still illuminating blue and the display screen is blank with no noise coming from the speakers. is this a wiring issue or something else??

you hooked the red 12v ignition to the yellow constant most likely

funny though, must be a jetta thing. had a girl do the same thing to her car and I had to fix it.

just do red to red and yellow to yellow

everything is wired correctly and still i get this problem. there is an orange wire left over on the harness which is not on the cd player. will the orange wire effect it or could it be another problem??
