Head unit sub level -6 or +6

just installed 2 12's in my girlfriends acura tl with the stock head unit.

Should the sub level be -6 - C - +6?

I set the gain for the amp at +6.

Settings with stock subwoofer was

Treble +2

Bass -2

Center +2

Sub +3

I usually set mine at +2 but not sure about this car because it goes into the negatives.

So if gains were set at -6 or even 0, would turning it to +6 induce clipping? Sorry to thread jack OP, just curious.
Without a doubt, it would any time the media played was recorded at flat or above flat levels. Gain setting should be done with subwoofer controls to max, bass and treble flat and volume control at the maximum unclipped level.
