Head Unit Spitting CD's out ~ Help

Just got a used panasonic CQ-DF202U from a guy I trust when he says it played perfectly before shipping. Now I have installed it into my 03 matrix and it spits everything out, burnt or store bought. After a few minutes of fighting with it, it will take most CD's

Now having said that I ran a CD cleaner disc with the little brushes twice and used compressed air, but no change. Is there anything else I can try to make this thing read better.

NOTE*

It takes the cd, the spinning sound starts and stops 3 times, the display reads 00:00 for time elapsed and right before it spits the disc out the display goes black. But like I said after 3-4 minutes it takes the cd and plays fine no skipping and continues to play fine until you eject and pout back in.
