Head unit question

Hello all. I'm new here and wanna say hello first. Anyways on to my question. Ok I'm starting to get back into bass and having a complete audio system in my car. I used to have a show car when I was 16-17 but ended up totaling it because I had a wreck. I hydroplaned off the road at no fault of my own. Slow car, but I miss it lol. Anyways, I had won two sound off trophies with it. It's been a while since I've even thought about getting back into it, much less looking at what head units are out there today. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about newer version of the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X869. I had that in my old car and loved the options it had for sound adjust-ability. I would like to have another Kenwood with basically the same features except upgraded. It also needs to be able to have a connection for Ipods, my computer, and my Iphone. I have a bunch of cds but the majority of my stuff is on my computer. Anyways any help will be greatly appreciated. I need it to be able to have full control over the highs and lows of all speakers.

i think that you should go with eclipse....they have never let me down ever and there head units have so much room to play with and tweak every little thing....look on egay and get an eclipse 7200 they can be had for 230 and will last and do work....i love my eclipse 7100 because of its active capabilities and how i have my system off of it

i talked to a crutchfield rep and he said the kenwood kdc-X series will provide better sound quality than the kenwood kdc-MP series. i forgot the exact word(s), but the kdc-x had newer something in it.

everyone loves eclipse, i was looking at the keenwood kdc-x too mostly because of looks and time alignment

8v preouts on the eclipse...my 7100 had T/A and pretty much every phase and sound level setting possible....cross over....octave settings....

That's cool. I've only had Kenwood and Alpine HU's before. A few of my friends had Eclipses HU's and ALWAYS had problems lol. So I'll look into it tho. But thanks for your input guys. Every little bit helps.

I'm still looking lol. I'm really picky about things like this. But so far i do like the Kenwoods we've talked about. Like I said, I want something with great performance, gives me full control of the sound as in adjust ability with the highs, mids, and lows, and also great subwoofer control.
