Head unit problem with tuner

The radio in my headunit doesn't work by itself. If I turn the radio on I have to change the source to cd and then back to radio and then it will kick on. But it will only play the station that it turned on to. For example let's say it turns on to 680 if I change to 810 1100 it doesn't matter, it continues to play the same station. To switch stations I have to change the radio to the station I want, change the source to cd and then back to radio. Sounds like my tuner is broken to me. Anyone know of what is wrong and if I can fix it? I tried spraying an electrical cleaner down to where the antenna jack is on the head unit and also tried compressed air.

Looks like Alpine is out because most of their hu's are listed with 4 or 5 band equilizers.

What does the ohms rating mean for preamp outputs? Some companies list like 4 volts @ 60 ohms for example. Is a higher number better or lower number better for the ohm rating?

Well I've now shrunk it down to JVC, Panasonic and unfortunately sony. Sony has a cd signal to noise ratio of 120. It has 4 volt preamp outputs and a 7 band equilizer. I'm leaning towards the JVC.

The following line worries me about the panasonic as I don't want mids and high's removed from my rear speakers I only want it removed from the sub preamp output.

"Super Bass Control Subwoofer — removes mids and highs from rear speakers".

See links; which would you pick?

Well I just bought about the best possible deck specs wise aside from eclipse for 1/2 the price of eclipse. Got it on closeout. Usually sells for $450 but got it for $275. 106 sound to noise ratio (not the best) 5 volt preamp outs 60 ohm impendence (so slightly higher than eclipse but other companies have a rating of around 100 ohm)

does it have 24 bit DAC? What did you get? A 3 Band EQ that works correctly canbe better than a 5 band that blows. but the eclipse units do have more than 3 band EQ's in advanced mode if you get the 8V modles. I did not like the look of this years decs, but you could get a great deal on an 8454 if you can find one.

S/N ratio's are useless to compare things on

1V more wont make the difference either.

No it's even better than that. It's 128 bit DAC.
