Head Unit Not Secure?

Heya all. I was installing a friend older sclipse HU into his car today and everything went until we went to put the trim ring on the deck so it doesent just slide through and it doesent secure anywhere to the HU? Basically the trim ring slides on and off the HU and does not clip on or anything, so when you go to put the HU iinto the dash it just falls through. Anyone know if maybe were missing something?? the basket for the headunit should have some clips that fold up/down to go behind your aftermarket installation kit.

secure the can (sleeve) with the tabs tha fold out (those triangle things). then slide the deck into the can, and make sure it clicks and locks in place. the other thing is, if the can is secure, then it might not be the correct one if the deck falls through the can.
