head unit issue with 2003 bmw 325i

bought a 1 din jensen 9312 7" touch screen got the dash kit off ebay and its too small for the unit. not only that but i tried to stick the unit in the dash without the install kit and its kind of a tight fit and it doesnt go all the way in. anyone else had any issues with this before? i put the jensen in my truck and it fit my pioneer cage fine, it only seems to be an issue with the ebay dash kit, and the dash of the car. i put the ebay dash kit in the car and it fit the dash perfect, just the cutout hole for the unit is to small

its not the kit its the car. The factory radio in that car is 1/2" shallower then a din radio and so is the mounting area. If you look at the back of the factory radio you will see a little black thing sticking out. Now look in the empty dash you will see a 1" thick plastic thing with a hole in it for that black thing. That plastic piece must be removed for the radio to fully slide into the dash.

Simply pop the acc controls out..you can use your hand for that by pushing from the back with the radio out. Then pop the top ac vents out. These are tougher but are removed by taking out the two phillips screws on either under side and then using the same method as the hvac controls. Once all that is out take out those two bottom corner screws that the hvac controls covered up. No that big piece of plastic will come right out of the dash. Cut and file that back piece off and pop the thing back in and your radio will then fit fine.
