Head unit is shutting off

Well I’m lost, my hu has been shutting off once the bass hits but turn right back on, however if the truck isn’t moving and Is in park it won’t shut off even if I turn the music up (same song) not sure if its a lack of power from the alternator or a bad ground what do y’all think ?

It sounds like lack of power. A running vehicle uses more energy so it seems plausible. Clean your battery terminals thouroughly, then tell us if it helped any.

Your alternator produces more power/amps at higher RPM's. Nevertheless, it does sound like a power issue.

1) Have you upgraded the big 3?
2) Clean tight connections at the battery?
3) If you're using the factory ground for your HU, it's probably time to upgrade that.
4) Is you're amp grounded to a shiny on the car free of paint? It's possible you choose a bad ground location.
