Head Unit Installation Help

I own an old 75 ford pickup truck, and will only be using it for 3 weeks or so, and the old trucks back then had a bracket that held the heater interface and the radio in. the bracket holds the radio in by the metal rods that are on the volume/power knob and the scan/balance and treble knob. is there a quick easy affordable fix to put in my new jvc lx100? thanks. peace.

I know what you mean, and with out cutting away the metal, there is no easy way...that is if you want to "install" it. If your only going to have the truck for 3 weeks and want to put your HU in, what I would do is hook it up and set it on the floor or seat or something. Just run a wire from the battery to the HU, one from the ignition, and ground it. If you can't find an ignition wire you can tap into the battery wire, just make sure you turn it off when you turn the truck off. Then from there run your speakers...or remote and amp(s) and then speakers if your using an amp(s). If your conserned about the safety of the HU, you can always unplug the wire harness and take it with you.
