Head Unit install in a classic truck NEED HELP!!!

Alright guys this has had me stumped. The vehicle is a 73 f100. It had a JVC head unit previously and the problem I was having was that the head unit would function but I wouldn't get any sound from the speakers. I wanted to replace the head unit so I ended up going with a newer alpine CDE 134 HD. At this point ive basically rewired the whole truck to try and make the head unit work but nothing seems to work. Im having the same problem im having before with the old head unit. The head unit will function but there is no sound. At this point ive wired the memory (Yellow wire) and ground straight to the battery, and the speakers are wired directly to the head unit, there is no amp. Ive replaced the wires running to the speaker. The red wire is hooked to a 12v switched source. Now in testing I was able to get sound by hooking the red and yellow wires together and taking the ground and connecting it to another battery, the truck was basically just holding the speakers. I dont know what could be causing this issue, Is there like a protect mode that shuts off the internal amp? Im going to try and test the actual voltage to everything but this has got me puzzled.

maybe something going on where you have the acc ,red , wire connected under the dash
Well its weird. I was able to get it to work leaving the red wire connected and just taking the yellow and ground to a separate battery, im contemplating wiring the red wire straight to the ignition since its right there.

you can , but you'll have to turn the deck off everytime you get out of the car

find a spot on the fuse panel ,but check the wires on the harness to make sure that they are ok or not first ,but it does sound like the issue is there
Yea I will its just so weird. It doesnt make any sense to me. But I guess since the rest of it is hard wired straight to the battery thats where my issue has to be.
