Head Unit Dampening

Has anyone had to dampn their head unit at all ? my cd5200 will not take any hits at high (prolly 148+db and up) volume anymore but when i pull the deck out and hold it in my hand it has no problems . . allinput appreciated im mean i kow i can use ipod but is CD completely out of the question now ?

i mean basicaly it will not play cd's at full tilt anymore, no one else has this problem ? maybe something is wrong with my deck ?

I had the same problem and I used some open cell packing foam around mine to absorb the vibrations. Check the tightness of your cage mounting too, may have some loose tangs
