This should be fun. Which one would you choose for the best sound quality ? ... Arc Audio XXK or US Amps AX Series ... Or , are they too close to matter.

This simple poll is FOR FUN ONLY .... I want to see what people think about what should be VERY close results .... Fire away //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

He's actually down below putting the smiles on their faces //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I saw a picture once of the US Amps 'factory'...and was pretty shocked as how messy and unorganized it was. Just looked like some dudes in a room with a pile of boards and heat sinks gettin $6/hr for their expert soldering skills. Arcs production facility might not be any better, but I'd have to go with Arc based on that.

I've talked to the guys at Arc before and they were helpful and took time to chit chat about stuff in addition to answering my questions. I've never dealt with US Amps before, but I know their website is just plain wrong on their amp specs...plus that **** music makes me want to jam an ice pick into my medulla oblongata. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

SQ wise, I believe RC has a few grand for you if you REALLY want an answer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

^^ Not only that but not too many of the members of the many forums i visit have used the AX line. So i honestly don't think too many will have a informative post in this thread.
Yeah ..... that's a shame too. From an engineer's stand point , the guts of the AX series amps looks very well done. Of course I haven't seen a close enough view to recognize the names or trademarks of any particular part's names.

The real reason for my asking , is I found it interesting when researching US Amps , that while some people are using them for subs , almost no-one is using them for front stage ...... So I thought I'd try and get a feel for people's opinion on them. After all , the AX series seems to be in-line with Arc's XXK pricing.

The 4chs @ 4ohms should be comparable, although the 4150 on paper(and real world) is substantially more powerfull as a whole. The xxk designs are going towards 8+ years rock solid-basically bulletproof. Nothing currently available by US amps has that on their record.

Nothing else really matches up powerwise to make a subjective claim of sonic differences that may not be credited to headroom differences.

Try the Hybrid series vs solid state and you possibly may hear differences on the top end.

Ahhh .... Good post.

A lot of insight. Thanks.
