HDTV quesitons....

probabaly because your tv doesn't have have 1080 lines;)
just checked the owners manual and it says 1080i......its not terribly choppy i can just tell 720 is smoother and there really isnt a difference in picture

quick google search leaves me corrected. they will carry it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

i still maintain that its useless in most current applications though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . especially gaming.

your tv can only play up to it's native resolution. It's more than likely yours is an LCD with 1366x768 lines which will always be 720p.

1080i & 1080p = 1920x1080

Xbox360 does output 1080p over components with the update that's been out for over a year now. Alos if you have a 1080p tv and send it a 1080i signal, your tv will convert it to 1080p.
My bad, I was thinking about the HD-DVD add-on. Xbox 360 can only do 1080p via component cables for games only.

hey guys,

ok i got some new 1080p lcds and want to play my 360 on em in hd, Halo boiii!!

anyways

it says its doing 480p when connected to the tv with components, so my question is are the older 360s only capable to do 480p? so would i need to get a newer hdmi 360 for full 1080p?
