Ignore... As it breaks in it will infact GAIN spl... Also too the low end should extend a lil bit more.... I personally am haeing a hard time getting use to 2 10's i can imagine how it will be on 4 of them..

i know what you mean bro its cool. in my car i had no where to mount a large amp like the z1a are z2 so i bought a blazer just so ill have the room to mount not on the box my good friend dave said it will be ok since the box is one inch thick wrong. i blew in three 3weeks of play time. i play hard though...lol but dont we all

i wonder if putting a few rubber bushings between the amp and box would eliminate much of the vibration/flex...?

hes refering to the op's box mounted amp.

I've had several box mounted amps. My ZX2500.1 running my 9510 was on the box. It was fine for 3 months until I decided to do something else. My Stetsom 2k6d is now mounted on the box of my 9515. It's been fine for the few days it's been in there. So I don't understand the problem. Is he trying to say the vibration of the box will damage the internals of the amp?

dbdesignselite: yea, from what i have seen, the hd3/c subwoofers gain once broken in. so thats never a bad thing.

another thing i noticed today. i was pushing on the cone of the subwoofer, im sure you guys have done it so you know what im talking about. anyway as im moving it from zero to all the way in (well as much as i can, its still stiff), and then let it rise back up...something is sticking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif. the only thing i can think of that would make it stick, would be the suspension (spiders stretching and then sticking when they compress maybe?). i will keep my eye on this and see if this relates to the noise i was hearing (ie, if the sticking goes away, does the noise? etc). ive never experienced this before. its interesting to say the least.

but anywho, i still cant get over the upper end of this driver. seems i was missing a lot with the btl. i think the btl might do better in a smaller box than what i had. that box really seemed to exagerate the lows.

Yea, it's definitely better than any shitty Motorola phone I've ever had.

I've put this phone through hell and it still works.

So it's alright by me.

I thought pressing on the cone was bad for the sub?

its fine. not gonna hurt anything unless your heavily rubbing the coil out in the gap.
