^^^great statement I agree 1000000000......% On subject any reason why you didnt use threaded rod instead of dowels?
egg
2 reasons

1) im just more used to working with dowels. more comfortable in sticking with what im used to.

2) i have no way to mount it. i would need some way to recess the nut on the bottom of the enclosure, so the box is not teetering on the rod/nut. i dont have access to a jasper jig/router, and using a jig saw to cut that small of a circle (to recess the nut) would be a PITA IMO.

i know i should go out on a limb and try new shit, but sometimes i say ill do it, and end up doing it the old fashioned way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Nice build.Your right though shit load of glue!!

And those screws accept "square drive" bits as well as the ACR bits. They are good at not stripping the heads but I don't like the threads not going all the way up.JMO

Looks nice. Those clamps were $4.99 at Harbor Freight yesterday for the 36" version. I went to buy one and at the register, I saw the price and went back to buy another! You can never have too many.
thanks bro.

yea, the only reason i even have these clamps is because my gf gave me a gift certificate to sears. i do have a gripe about them. the metal bar is a little bit flimsy. once you start to really torque it down you can see it start to arch. not bad for 14.99/each, but like you said, the ones from harbor freight for 10 bucks less, probably arent any worse.

i hope pv audio was right too. i ended up using Elmers Probond this time around, because IIRC, he said it was easier to sand then the titebond II. hopefully he is right, cause i got a bunch of sanding to do today lol. i did notice that it seems to be a tad bit thicker than the titebond II, and doesnt run quite as quickly. still runs, but not as bad IMO.

as far as the glue goes....if you think thats bad, then you aint seen nothing yet lol.

as for the threading. yea i think its only the 1 5/8" ones that have it like that, but yes, i dont like it either. they seem to work fine though.

as soon as i wake up a little bit more and get some light outside, im gonna head out and finish installing this shit.

Looks good. Would have liked to have seen a roundover on the port opening and port end.
i would too, but i have no access to a router and round over bits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.
