i have one brand spanking new hdc312 paired with a 1200d amp and for now its in a seal 2cf enclosure. i saw the box designs on here and i would like to build one the only issue is i dont know what hz these aq's like. and how much cf i should make the box. anyone else with this sub got any suggestions?

thanks for the quick reply guys. ill start looking threw the box designs for a 2.5cf at 36hz. i havent really broken the sub all the way in and i dont wanna push it just yet but with this box and it being broken in should it hit harder than what it is now correct?

is there anywhere else that has box plans =P i looked threw this list i didnt see anything close to 36hz in a 2-3cf box. i just dont know where to look sorry guys

35x15x15 would be the max i could possibly go. but smaller would be better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif tuned to 36 hz

i listen to all types of music. i just want it to hit harder than what it is =P i also read that its bad to make the box seal off the trunk from the cabin by making it too big witch 35x15x15 would do. ill check around on the dd site and whatnot and see what i find

Yeah they need room to breath for potential. You got to put it in a ported box, and they sound good in them too, but you got to experiment with some designs to get it how you like it

you could always face the sub and port in towards the car if the box is too big to face back.

I'd do 2.5cubes @ 38Hz with 40^2 of port area given your power level and listening preferences...

If your rear seat folds down you could fire forward into the cabin and seal off the box. Depending upon how you'd seal it off tuning will probably drop some as you'll effectively lengthen the port, so I'd tune to 40Hz or so...

strass is probably second to DJ himself on knowing hdc's inside and out, i know everyone wants to stay away from that 38-40hz range but the subs are low end monsters that play well below tuning frequency, my hdc312 was tuned to 38hz and had zero problems playing below tuning frequency, strass's hdcs are tuned to 38 i believe and peak at 31...
