hdc312 on a gp3000d-pro

didn't read the whole post, but i thought my subs were bottoming out or sumthing.. but it turned out the box was flexing.. once i fixed that.. it sounded way louder and better

page 11? and you still **** @ life.... i feel sorry for you.... if car audio is that hard for you, maybe you should quit. in all honesty
sweet buddy, what do u think this forum is meant for?? shut the **** up and mind your own business.

that would make sense, i had the box made for me by a trusted guy on here, and was concerned when i got it because it had ZERO bracing...

judging by the vid u posted and with the experience from my own hdc3 15 you are pushing the suspension way past its limits, either turn down the gain or set you SSF correctly.

sounds great. but the gains are set with a dmm on a 40hz odb tune. theres no way its gettin pushed passed its limits. and the SSF is set at 32, thats sounds about perfect to me..

i understand this but a 40hz test tone is played for a certain amount of time. so a continous sine wave of 40hz is different then a quick 40 hz punch. understand? the quick bass punches will move the suspension more than a steady sine wave will.

BAD A$$ CHEVY, you must have been born with all the knowledge you need about car audio huh?? i guess you are one of the lucky ones. maybe read the whole thread before opening your ****-filled mouth. not having too many problems, just concerns. why my voltage is NOT dropping, and now i am wondering about the reputable noise the hdc makes.. pretty basic stuff. ur 27 yrs old, obviously you have a lil more knowledge than i do at 21 queer.

yes i do. thank you. i think i am gonna try to raise it up a little, and also need to try a new box. thanks for the advice.

do u know how to test impedence rise? well if you have a dmm and a clamp take the dmm and connect it to the amp on the speaker terminals with the sub connected, take the clamp and put it on the positive wire running to the sub. plug in a test tone say 40hz and play this tone and get a steady reading on both the clamp and the dmm. lets say on the dmm you get 37 volts. and on the clamp you get 30 amps well divide the 2 together and you will get the impedence. this equation would come out to 1.23 ohms at 40hz. lower frequency test tones will greatly increase the impedence rise. And according to alot of people the AQ's and DD's have some of the worst impedence rise and this is probably why your voltage isnt dropping all that much.

thanks man. i am going to order a clamp tomorrow. any suggestions? cheap and reliable... any special kind? true rms?

You are not pushing that sub judging from the video no where near the limits of the suspension... The box its in do you have the specs on it?? I may have missed them.. Let me know..

I ran AQ and still do.. You will get some kinda noise out of them until the FULLY break in... I have no problems with mine at all.... No funny noise no bottoming out or any of that.... No at the beginning i did but its normal...

i have the dual 1. wired to half an ohm and it shows .8 before i run it to the amp. as far as a clamp just get one that will measure ac amps and for a dmm just about any will do. Biggest thing though is if you say its loud enough for daily then maybe just leave it at that. I can already tell you though that imp rise isnt letting the sub see all the amps potential. Getting another sub in dual 1 and wiring to half may get you some more power and may be a little louder but probably now worth spending the extra cash. Anyway im off to bed now!
