hdc312 on a gp3000d-pro

so why is mine reading closer to yours? and i have d2 and wired parallel.... i gotta pull that thing out and test both sides.. maybe just re-due the wiring altogether. oh well shit is loud
thats what we're wondering lol.

i do remember another guy with a hdc that said his coils were not matching up either. although i never kept track of the thread. could of just been old batteries in his dmm.

ignoreme, when you hook your dmm up to your speakers terminal wires (after wired in parallel) what does it read? or is yours wired in series to get 2ohm?

the dmm wires have resistance too. Most dmms will show different #s from one another. First you have to find the dmms resistance, set the dmm on ohms and touch the red and black probes of the dmm together, that # will show the dmms resistance, now measure your sub and subtract the dmms resistance from that # and it should show right around what ohm coils you purchased or what it is at series or parallel.

so apparently these speakers have a tendency to bottom out on the punchy notes quite easily...
not really. i think what you are hearing is probably the "HDC" sound that i have posted about (as have a few others).

it could be bottoming out (got a video?), but honestly to bottom out my hdc took playing under tuning by quite a bit, full tilt with the SSF set to off.

edit: here is mine. is it something similar to this? http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x246/georgefromca/?action=view&current=Picture006-1.flv

Do you think that sound is caused by the basket? Hopefully the 18's dont make that sound.

thats weird, because i have once again redone all my settings (my door speakers are pretty cheap and were making a popping noise with my headunit at 52/62, so i reset everything with volume at 48/62, eq flat (except 50hz at -1) and voltage at sub terminals at 55v using a 40hz 0db test tune with SSF at about 30. and when i play some rap songs that have quick hits it sounds like if i were to turn it up another notch of two the speaker would pop out. if i didnt have the speaker directly behind me in my pick up i dont think i would be able to hear it as well, but it sounds like it would cause some damage if i continue to play it like that. should i get some bass blockers for my door speakers so i can set my gains utilizing more voltage from my headunit?

nope, not the basket. supposedly it goes away during break in ( i know mine started to. at first it was terrible, but slowly it got to the point that you only noticed it if you were back there looking right at it).

some people have said they didnt have that sound, while me and 2 other guys did.
