HDC3 wierd noise

I just bought a copper hdc318 about a month ago and now its making a weird crackling/popping noise when I turn it up. I broke it in like i was supposed to. I'm running it on an audiopipe1500d and its probably seen 1300w at best. I know they're rated at 1000w but people here claim to run them at 2k plus. So its not like i've fed it too much power. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Probably ripped spider like the rest of us. I'm regretting that I sent my recone to AQ.

I wouldnt say I'm a car audio guru but I think i've got the basics covered on building a proper box, settin gains, etc. Lots of people on here run budget amps like AP, Hifonics, etc. Its not a Sundown but its sure not a Pyle or Boss. Dj seems like a nice dude , they've got great customer service, and other people love their AQS but I dont think im going that route again.

Dam i just put mine in i havent heard anything funny outta it. If i recone it im sure as hell am not doin it through audio que. when or if that happens ill just get a team psi recone kit. Any suggestions on how to keep it from happening?

why wouldnt you go through aq for the recone?

X2, seems like the build quality is going down for AQ. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I did 12 recones over 3 weeks towards the end of last year, copper and alum. Broke in the subs for 10-12 hours and then metered full tilt on tones and music. Not one sub ever had an issue, so not sure what you guys are doing wrong...

Im pretty sure he gets them from AQ. Seems like he knows what hes doing and has no problem these guys are having. I say user error, especially if they were getting under 1500 watts.
