HDC3 Problems?

You were both putting more than recommended RMS to them for extended time, WTF do you think was gonna happen?
point being if the sub is going to blow with anything above rms its not quality....theres tons of subs for the same price that are rated at 2000rms but can take 4000rms daily.

Im glad i never jumped on this audioque bandwagon.

You rely way too much on advertising/marketing to base your decision on quality. There are plenty of lousy subs that are underrated in terms of advertised power handling, while there are also plenty of very high quality drivers that are rated/marketed much more accurately.
An IDMax, CSS SDX or hell even a Velodyne would all be low quality drivers using your logic.

That is just ab ignorant statement. To just base your logic on the amt of watts put on a sub to blow it is dumb to say. There are many other factors that can cause a sub to fail. As done by Skip01 you can put 5k to one without mech failure, or simply blow them with 2k. Its mostly in the install and enclosure.

So what you base your opinion on for not jumping on the "bandwagon" is just a dumb statement. Overall great woofer esp for the price that its at

i dunno,i think alot of it is just talk... there was alot of crap goin around about the g series 9500s when they came out too but those are still goin strong people need to readjust to a new sub and get used to how it functions and in what box, in their application........

the AQ and the DD use the same basket. soft parts are different. I think naturally there is going to be some noises with either sub. Now the 18's use a different basket than the other sizes and the 18's have more cooling as well. I think the 18's should be able to handle a little more power just due to the extra cooling.

you asked why people weren't happy w/ them... so i told you..

moron

People keep saying these>btls... i was 200% happier w/ every aspect of a btl.

audioque's subs were always advertised as being overbuilt.. but if they can't even handle their rated 2kw music power then thats not overbuilt at all is it?

not jose you forgot the chic over the e dude!

power is listed as 1000 continuous and 2000 music peak. not sure where they say that you can run 2000rms on music!

I've seen alot more positves than negatives on the AQ's. They are definately great subs for what you pay for them. Sure some people have had bad luck with, people have had bad luck with many other subs. When someone blows an Fi, RE... etc. you just don't see people jumping on and saying how bad they are. But for some reason every time an AQ fails it's spread all over the forums that they ****. I love my AQ equipment and I will stick with it until it lets me down. Just my 2 cents.
