hdc3 and sdc2.5 comparison

Simple question. Do the sdc's perform the same as the hdc3's in the perspective that they have the ability to hit lows and highs as well as the hdc3, just not quite as loud? The sdc excursion is 2.3", and I don't have enough experience to know whether or not that would keep sub from hitting say 30 hz as well as the hdc3 that has 3". (I know the sdc won't be quite as loud, but think of my question as a ratio). Basically my question is, will the hdc3s hit lows well enough? Any vids or anything of that sorts would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking about going 4 12"s in my truck. So when I can afford it just switch out the sdcs with hdcs.

ive used both before. i can say that 2 12" sdc2.5's off a 1200d were about as loud as my one hdc315 on 3k not quite though. they were about the same on the ability to hit the lows

Oh ya, what is the real power rating on these? Like 1200w?

yeah definantly a solid sub. i wouldnt put more than 1k on one though. it would also have to be clean power to even put that much on it

Ok. I was actually thinking an Aq 3500D for 4 of the sdc. Then 2 3500D when I upgrade to hdcs. This shouldn't be loud. Naw. (daily driver btw)

I would say an SDC is good for about 900wrms. After that they start to stink. I have no experience with the HDC's

From what I have heard the hdc and sdc are about the same volume wise. But, The hdc ends up being louder because it can handle more power and has greater excursion.

The copper coil HDC3's will play the lows like the sdc. But, the al version is for spl.

im throwing around 2500 rms daily to my hdc and it dont get hot or smell at all they are very underated. from what ive herd though the sdc is louder on lower power under 1500 rms for the pair(800 each). id say after that the hdc takes over and kills the sdc. either way if your doing 4 you should be happy.

It's just slow right now. It works but it takes about twice as long to compute things.
