I was playing my music yesterday and all of a sudden my hdc3 started making this rattling noise.....I used my dmm to set the gain on my amp so I know I'm not overpowering the sub......I have attached a video so you can hear what I'm talking about......I was playing a 40hz test tone at quarter volume roughly........I just had it reconed from soundqubed about 2-3 weeks ago also.....I havent overpowered it at all either......Thank you for your input

it sounds a lot like the noise you hear where people intentionally wall socket subs, they'll spark and die or sometimes theyll make a nasty sound like that and it seems like the cone seperates from the coil

i doubt it, shouldnt be enough to kill a sub with a coil large like that. im merely offering my opinion, it could be something else but theres nothing else visibly wrong with the sub from what i can see so i couldnt tell you.

it could also be the inside of the coil rubbing on the motor pole. there's gaps to see the coil in the video and the coil looks fine.. not sure what happened to cause it to make that noise

I didn't think so....and the thump only happened a few times cause I've been turning my head unit off before I shut my car off so it won't make that thump noise.......I do appreciate your opinion, thank you.....so do you think that'll be covered under warranty?.....the sub still plays perfectly fine even at high volume.....which is good in a sense because that tells me it's not blown, am I correct?.....thank you for your input

Ok, after a more detailed inspection I finally figured out what was wrong.....on the very edge of the spider on one side it came unglued just slightly causing it to slap against the basket....So my next question is....what type of epoxy or glue would you guys recommend for gluing it back together.....the part that came unglued is small enough to where I can just barely get my finger nail under it, so it's not much at all....but just enough to make that annoying noise....anyways, thank you for your input
