He shouldnt be changing gains depending on music...

Why not? As long as the gain on amp is set properly then a bass knob/LC-1 is fine...

The only type of "bass" knob that should be used is a gain knob the two other types cuz cause clipping just like the bass boost on an amp...

Bass knob = remote gain knob

LC-1 = inline RCA voltage knob

If the amp gain is set properly with either knob at FULL, then there won't be any issues

this is what i thought

Indeed.. I like having the gain knob, as its easier imo. I just set the gain a little over half on the amp, then plug the gain control in while its set to max, then adjust the bass from there. No need in touching the amp anymore. Works like a charm every time. Ofcourse this would only be recommended by someone who has a general sense of gain control. If the subs start to stink, just back it down op.

AQ never have suggested a 2200 per hc3. All though many do it for burps it would never be suggested to do. You know hoe many calls I took aday asking about the power abilities of that driver. It was rated for 1000 for a reason.

thats exactly what i do now.. makes life so much easier to just move on the fly.. when you listen to rock and rap i dont wanna have to get out of my truck just to adjust the bass

I've never had a problem with their soft parts, not sure why others do. Been running HDC's for 4 years now with 2-7x RMS power to them...
