HDC SDC questioN!

i previously had a 15 inch HDC3 and abo****ly loved it box was 8 Cubic feet insanely huge took out my whole back seat on my chevy so the box would fit anywho im going smaller wana leave the seat in this seat so just gona mount the box on top of my seat some how so it wont move hmmmm, but anyways i was thinking of going with a 12 SDC2 512 subwoofer, its 140$ pretty good my hdc was like 300 but same company they say its the same sub but is it worth it? will i have the Insane sound i got from that sdc2 sub? i had a 4000RMS amp btw my v8 alternator is stock so im sure it was pushing around 1k at the most with the dimms i got, old timer havent been in market for a while so any other advice is good im also looking for a nice 1000rms or 1200RMS amp for the sub to budjet is around 200 for amp sorry about spelling guys im rushing to work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the hdc3 is going to cost more and can eat more power than you want to throw at it....sdc might be best

i say get the hdc although it costs more and 1200 watts is nominal for what it can take. but it sounds like if you got a scd, and put 1200 watts to it, then you'd be coming back in about 2 weeks with other suggestions bc you blew it.

maybe you didnt know this but if he's looking for a 1200 rms amp...then he's probably going to get ~1200 and the gain knob is what controls how much power is going to the sub. so if he keeps the gain knob off of max...then it should be good as unclipped power they can take 1000-1200. just a lil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

don't doubt that they can take 1200 unclipped, but he had a 4000 RMS amp and his V8 alternator only gave it like 1K:crap:

that's why i say get the hdc bc you have a little room for mistakes if he goes crazy w/ the gain.

if all he has is 1200 rms id say get the sdc,hdc's need more power than that to get really loud..

not exactly.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I know he wants another amp, ,but he said he had a 4K rms amp that only gave 1k. although his alt was stock, i'm sure it was giving more than that, unless he had a legacy amp.
