HD Cable - DVI or Component?

My Time Warner Cable dude came through and hooked up an HD cable box for me. I get like 20 channels in HD for free - no added cost on my subscription.

However my TV guide loads up slow and of course the non-HD channels aren't astounding. Would using a DVI cable instead of the Component cable he hooked up make any difference?

i have time warner and only get 13, we use comonents, the HD channels are awsome, especially sports, others not as good.

You could try it however, some devices output better signal over their HDMI/DVI inputs than they do their Component...

It is the exact same as HDMI but with out the audio...

I would say its all trial and error. I remember when my brother first bought his HD set he went out and bought a DVI cable thinking it would be the best. He soon after found out that the component looked better than the DVI between his TV and HD satellite receiver.

So basically when you use the DVI cable you're using the TV set's decoding.??? And when you use component you're using the HD receiver's circuitry?? I'm not big into video as much as I am into audio.

I noticed a difference between component and DVI, not a huge one but DVI was noticably clearer to me.
