HD Cable - DVI or Component?

My Time Warner Cable dude came through and hooked up an HD cable box for me. I get like 20 channels in HD for free - no added cost on my subscription.

However my TV guide loads up slow and of course the non-HD channels aren't astounding. Would using a DVI cable instead of the Component cable he hooked up make any difference?

I would say its all trial and error. I remember when my brother first bought his HD set he went out and bought a DVI cable thinking it would be the best. He soon after found out that the component looked better than the DVI between his TV and HD satellite receiver.

So basically when you use the DVI cable you're using the TV set's decoding.??? And when you use component you're using the HD receiver's circuitry?? I'm not big into video as much as I am into audio.

My understanding is that for under 25' of cable you will never see the difference between the three.
I noticed a difference between component and DVI, not a huge one but DVI was noticably clearer to me.

Then again it's just as likely to be placebo effect. Watch me, if I start ranting about how $500 solid wires are making a difference in my system I'm full of shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
