HCCA or kicker L7

yeah the HCCA will trump that L7. the only thing i don't like about the HCCA is that 1 you need a HUGE box for them to sound decent and not like a fart woofer, and 2 they take so much **** power to sound good it's insane. they are strictly a comp. woofer unlike the L7 which is for the average joe as well as the serious competitor. that is just my 2 cents on the opinion.

never seen an hcca hold up long enough to honestly say they would woop anything. if my memory serves me correctly which i know it is the hcca hasnt changed since 98 99 when they were gettin wooped by kove's lol rubber surrounds on that type of woofer is not good especially when they get warm .... that is why dd kove and alot of other speaker manufacturers R&D'ed rubber but went foam. and the team gates guy that won with the kickers...that guy (as well as that whole team) know so much from just a pure science aspect it isnt even funny. he woulda won with just about anything he set his eyes on

it really isn't fair to compare 2 subs like that in an SPL match considering how many more watts the HCCA will handle than the L7, of course the L7 will lose considering its pushing maybe half the amount of watts the HCCA is.

then why didnt the set ups using 9 15's and 9 12's break the records ? i have seen 4 or 5 of those had more displacement than the kicker van with 11 10's

im putting a new system in my ride, and im probably gonna go with a 12" sub. I have been looking mainly at the Orion HCCA. I read this thread and started wondering. You say it needs ALOT of power and a large box to sound good...can you give me examples or details? I have a VW GTi. im not gonna be competing or anything, i just want something that sounds good. Would the L7 be a better choice? or even a 10"? this thread just gave me alot of questions. idmax, adire, blueprint......thats what i would go with over a hcca i would take the kicker over it as well

the only reason it was the loudest system in the world is cuz KICKER specifically put 48 L7 10's in a bronco, now immagine if you put 48 juggys in a bronco you would spank the crap out of the L7's no problem so the L7's sound good yeah but there are some other better subs out there but in my opinion on the HCCA or the L7 i would prefer the HCCA

yea was 11 10's wasnt alma's bronco was her teammates. and what have hcca's done again back when they were considered amongst the best they didnt "do it" now they are a good woofer and did some damage in their day but when push came to shove they lost..now things have gotten better and another point i'll lean towards a L5 or L7 is they actually sound alot better and the displacement factor if my math is correct the solo is higher.

Anyone have links for these vehicles. I have seen the Bronco, which is too excessive. I know that before they were using the Gates L7's, but they switched to the production line.

Hey guys thanx for all the facts (and opinions). And anybody who was still wondering, the hcca made the L7 look silly! Actually I shouldn't say it looked silly but the hcca is quite a bit louder. well i have a set of armogedons i would have sold you that i know kill the hcca's but for some reason my L5's beat those hmmm. the 15" hcca handles 600 watts rms and in a comp car i seen 3 fly apart literally with 1000 watts rms going to them each where as i have drove my L5's with 1000 watts rms playing more than a burp with no problems but that is also a L5 handles 750 and a L7 is suppossed to handle 1000 as mr hughes system has more power than that per woofer as well and although his record has fallen he is still 1 db louder certified than the current holder....
