hcca-2100 question

hey guys!

i already own a hcca-2100 that i will install when the temperature will be right to run mt 2 12L7. today i bought another one on ebay for a good price. i was wondering how the amp will sound on a component set (CDT ES62I). underpowered? overpowered for a compoenent set? i already have a xtr2250 on them and sound sweet. i was just wondering because of the rating (2X100RMS @ 4OHMS) if that was the real output or its way more.

Thanks!

The 2100 HCCA and 2250 SX & XTR are essentially the same amp and use the same circuit board, however one is geared for high current low ohm load operation and the other for high power standard ohm load operation.

Using the 2100 on the fronts would give you massive headroom but if you are using both at the same time I hope your charging system and wiring are up to the task because they are current hogs and eat up the juice faster than your charging system can make it if pushed moderately to hard. The 2100 or 2250 are overkill for a front stage a XTR-2150 or 2150SX are better suited for that.

Nice amps man! And you can get a lot more out of them other than a front stage. But if you got the $$$ I think they would be great. Just my opinion though.

I wouldn't swap the 2100 in place of the 2250. No point. The 2250 was designed for that load and the capability of the 2100 would be wasted.

You should sell it to me cheap. ( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif, if it is says Competition Amplifier on it though not kidding so much, serious about the first part either way)

curently the beast is connected tyo my component and yeah its too much power for a frontstage but wow what a difference in sound compare to my RF p550.2.

since i will have 2 X 2100 and they look sexy in their ruby red i wast just wondering if it was a bad move to remove the beast by the 2100 for my fronstage. i guess i will have to try //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but did you guys ever see people using their 2100 for fronstage?

thanks for all comment.

lol. i didnt receive the 2nd one yet!

but the 2100 will really give 2 X 100W @ 4ohm or it will be a lot more?

I've seen them used for fronts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Nice amps man, wish I would have kept a lot of my old equipment. Thought I was done with this stuff 15 years ago, sold it all.
