hc2400 + 70 amp alt

I would watch your voltage the lower it goes the harder the alt will have to work to get it back to charged(work at full output for longer than normal=thermal overload)

That amp will do 1200 watts RMS @ 1 ohm.

I guess it would depend on what car you drive, but, I would still go with a bigger alternator at some point down the line if I were you. I opted to go with a Kinetik HC1400 in my 1997 Civic and plan to replace the alternator with a HO alternator when the current one dies. FWIW, I am running 1200 watts RMS of pure Class AB power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I ran an atomic 3000.1 on a optima yellow top and stock 105 alt for a couple weeks till the second batt and alt upgrade and it did ok....I couldnt sit there and pound for more than 5 seconds or so before the batt meter started to dip. Anyway, I think you would be fine for now if it is not a particularly big amp?

no way can u run that 3k watts if u are gonna try to get all 3k watts from it with that stock alt and onyl that one battery it will be tough and serious voltage drops

yeah it will work, but i would expect voltage to drop to 11s. i would suggest getting a second one. ive got a 80a alt, and im gonna be getting a second d3100 soon

why dont you just get an ho alt instead of more batts you could probabl get one for about the same price your paying for one of those d3100's
