HC/e15A?

I've been planning on buying an e15A to install in the vented box they recommen in the back of my Bronco. Unluckily, I have little experience in conventional Car Audio knowhow.

I was originally looking at a XXX for my car, but ruled it out when my budget turned out lower than I expected.

Now to the question.

I heard of REs new pair of HC deal. I think it was 300+shipping? anyways what would you guys think would work better for me to keep a decent amount of SQ but put out a good emount of SPL. I'm not looking at competition numbers or anything remotely like that by anymeans. Just a daily driving thing.

2 12" HCs?

1 15" HC? (Would keep other and most likely could easily sell it to a friend at school to help defray costs.)

1 ed15A?

I've got a good amount of carpentry experience and am sure I could build the box on ED's website for the 15a, but as far as designing a box I'm completely lost. Would the HCs still be decent in a sealed enclosure and if not how would I go about determing how to tune a vented box.

Also, what kind of power would I need for the HCs to outmatch the 15a in terms of this debate and at what ohm?

from what i've heard and read, the HC is more at home in a ported box. find yourself a 1200w+ @1ohm amp.

15"HC in 4.2^3 ported tuned to 28Hz.

go with the ED 15A, seal it give it about 1000W or so and you will have one hell of a set up. the EDA will far surpass the HC as far as SQ goes while still hitting you in the chest. but if cost is a major issue the HC is a very good choice, and you wouldn't have to buy both there are people in the classifieds of this forum right now looking for partners to buy their HC's. Therefore you wouldn't have to buy both then sell the other. hope this helps, good luck.
