so I've been trying to find out the exact regulations for bringing a silvia into the states.

So far all I have found is that skylines are not legal because of motorex. Any links to where I can find an importer or something?

I know the glass will have to be changed out as well as a good bit of other stuff.

glass, emission, and crash bars. I know those 3 for sure, only problem is knowing exact regulations and some one that is registered to do the work so it can be registered is the problem. My state laws say I could bring it over and drive it 100% jdm factory but federal law says nope.

this guy is on auction right now, only problem is getting it here to have them tell me it's got to go back or be a race car only

oh and I forgot the R33 is still legal to import but 32 and 34 are out because of motorex.

when dad brought my porsche from germany everything was fine until he got it titled . couldnt get one because it wasnt bought in the U.S so that might be something else you need to ceck

it wasnt so much that as the fact of being imported lulz. drove it a whole year with no tags and had the thrill of a lifetime til he sold it lol.

you will probably pay more just the get the car to US spec/standard then its actually worth. why a silvia? are you 18 and just got done watching the fast and the furious series? or come back from a drift event? there are plenty of other fun RWD cars out there for the same amount of money. it wont be a "rare" or "different" car like the silvia, but I bet it would be easier to maintain and get parts for and just as much fun.

what kind of use would this "new" car be for? want a drift car? a DD? a track car? wana take it to race wars? Personally for the money, I dont think you can beat an E36 M3 for all around performance and "luxary" it provides. Every jap car I have ever been in feels like crap to me. The interior specifically. Plastic rattles, cheap leather or cloth, random squeeks and a ton of street noise penetrates the cabin of the car. You can have a clean FI M3 for 12k now a day
