For some reason i just cant seem to get my system to sound right. I can either get it to pound really hard, or have my ears nearly bleeding from the highs

but i cant make it sound good to me.I have been through all of the wiring connections many times and they are ok.My biggest trouble is getting a ''balanced'' sound between the highs and lows. I am thinking i may need to switch to component speakers as the coaxial 6.5'' and the infinity reference plates ( which i regrettably had to install) just cant cut it.

The dash and door speakers are on the two channel Memphis 150.2 and are wired at 2 ohms, the subs are on the 300.2 Memphis wired at a 2 ohm stereo load, (was thinking i needed to switch the subs to a mono 4 ohm load any advice appreciated). This is really bothering me i am ready to rip this system out and start over.

What kind of control does your HU have? When I installed a new Kenwood HU with seperate Pre-outs for the Subs it made a lot of difference.

There are many possibilities, X-Over points etc but wanted to throw this one out as well.

i have an older model Pioneer DEH-P6400 it has alot of eq settings and such. I have the crossover pionts set at 100Hz lowpass and 80 hz highpass

i can set my HU up for sub out but that makes the subs sound horrible
