this is my set up in my car. 1600 watt z edition 2 channel amp, kicker 200 watt 4 channel amp, 2 kicker ds65 2 way speakers, 2 kicker ds65 component set up. my goal was to hook up my 4 channel amp to my comp speakers, hook up my 2 way speakers straight to my head unit, hook up my 2 subs to my 2 channel amp. so i ran wire from the front 2 doors to the trunk where i have my amps set up for the comp speakers i ran 2 sets of rca cables one for the subs and the other for the comp speakers i hooked up the rear speakers to the head unit...i have 2 distribution blocks set up in my trunk where i hooked up my ground and my power wire. from there i split wire to both my amps once i had everything set up i turned the key to see how it sounded....the problem was that both my speakers and my subs where making noise but it wasn't music just static...the only speakers that worked where the rear one witch where the one i have hooked up straight to the head unit. i turned the car on and the noise got louder as i stepped on the gas the noise got even louder idk if i did something wrong or maybe there is a short somewhere...any ideas what i could have done wrong??

My first guess is that it's a uni-body car with a bad ground. If it is a uni-body, try grounding to the engine block.

uni body car?? its a volkswagen jetta...one more thing to when i turn the car off the speakers make a poping noise any clue?? i had originally had subs in there before so all the wiring was done all i needed to run was speaker wire and the rca cables ive never had trouble with it before any other ideas??

kool thanks ill check it out

so if i would ground it on my engine block where on the engine would i do it??

i was reading up some ppl where saying that if u run the rca cable next to the power cable that ill will cause an issue is that true?? cuz that how i have mine running -_-

Running it next to the power wire may introduce noise but I have never heard of it causing the subs/speakers not to play at all. The pop you are hearing may becoming from your remote turn-on lead. Too much voltage in that lead can cause the pop.

Any good bolt will do, just make sure it's not holding in fluids //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Scrub the spot down real good first, bare metal is best. I would just get a good heavy wire that would reach and do a temporary connection first.

yea ima check that out but i do hear some audio when i turn the car on the whining gets louders same when i rev the engine as for the pop from the remote cable how do i fix that??

Check the ground first. I have a feeling it'll solve all the issues.

i havent tested it yet but i seems like u were rite...the guy who grounded the cable bolted it in the trunk but he didnt scrape any paint of he just bolted it straight on ima run a wire from the steering wheel to the back theres a good ground bolt inside the dashboard that where ima start from...as for the rca cables if u have them close the power cable will the interferance be really loud?? or should i just be safe and run then on the opposite side??

Running RCA cables near power wires is the last place to look for trouble. It very rarely makes a difference. Alternator whine is pretty much ALWAYS related to grounds... grounds at the amps, at the HU in the dash, and grounds where the RCA cables attach to the HU. Check the sticky about alt whine and read it all.

Turn off pop or thump can be tough to cure. It's usually caused by RCA signals sending a pulse to the amp when power shuts off. You need to identify which amp is doing it and troubleshoot by removing the RCAs from it and follow the process of elimination. But fix your grounds first.
