Why not go 1 12" Flame Q running 1200 watts RMS (gains down) w/ large ported box. That I think would be better than half powering 2 subs.

thats not really true. in spl the 2 bahns would beat the one.

He wont be powering them fully tho. Its be better to go with 1 in a large ported box running Full RMS to the sub.
