So, I have an Alpine MRX-55 amp. The amp calls for 8 gauge power / ground.
I've currently got an 8 gauge wire kit in the car because that's what the amp is sized for (says 8ga max power/ground)
Anyways, as most will know, the amp is rated at 550W RMS, my amp was benchmarked at 630W RMS.
My amp has (2) 30A fuses, and my wire kit came with a 50A fuse. I recently bought a pack of 60A fuses to replace the fuse in the wire kit, however, after checking current draw/etc on the12volt.com, I realized that the amp should properly be connected with a 4ga wiring kit.
My question, after all that, is what is the best way to connect a 4ga wire into an 8ga power supply terminal?
Would the best way be to just cut some of the wire to fit it into the amps power supply? Buy an adapter? What?
Thanks!
