87% of people in that county oppose the bill, and yet they still passed it. This is an example of a county government taking a way too liberal viewpoint on their right/power to make health-based choices for citizens. Its similar to the seatbelt/helmet laws. Clearly the govt forcing its will upon its citizens on a personal decision, but the excuse was insurance costs. Once the government starts regulating health-care, whats to stop them from illegalizing anything they deem unhealthy? Frankly Im shocked that even a local California faction of the govt thinks it has the right to regulate how fat our children have the right to be. And to make such a bold move against individual rights over such a stupid law is amazingly dumb of them. Who here thinks illegalizing happy meals will make any difference in this country's obesity issue? lol
