Well you said white rappers in your second paragraph. The Grouch and Eligh from the group The Living Legends are both "conscious" rappers and both white. The only white rappers in a group of 8. The whole group is awesome actually. My favorite group by far.

the zimmerman case ****** me off. protesting the ruling was one of the dumbest things Ive ever seen(and i know we all have seen a lot of dumb things). zimmerman didn't fire until martin was on top of him beating his face and choking him. just because zimmerman couldn't beat a six foot tall giant dude in a fight doesn't mean he wasn't fighting back, and martin probably would've killed zimmerman if he hadn't been shot(judging by the way he was choking him). The only way the 'tragedy' would be avoided is if zimmerman had been carrying a taser or nonlethal weapon(even then it would still be in the news that a black man was tased b/c he was black). even though zimmerman was in the minority as well(half-mexican), people still say he only killed martin because he was black. I don't know if you posted that thinking of zimmerman, but I thought of it just because it was a recent case of what you just described.

If the same thing happened to a white kid, everyone would say well he was choking him and beating the **** out of him. Why wouldmt the guy shoot him?

Setting all racial issues/attitudes surrounding and involved within this case aside....the thing that really bugs me about the verdict in this case is that Zimmerman didn't get any time at all, that he was essentially set free and exonerated. The reason this bugs me is because while I agree that Zimmerman May have fired the weapon out of fear for his life, HE put himself and Martin in that position to begin with.

Zimmerman called the cops first and reported Martin walking around the neighborhood (which last I heard was completely legal) and the cops specifically TOLD Zimmerman to NOT follow Martin. Zimmerman decides to defy what the police had specifically INSTRUCTED him not to and follows Martin anyway. At that moment, that act of defiance is in fact criminal. Yes Martin attacked him, but Martin also felt threatened or at least conscious enough of the fact that he was being followed to contact a friend and mention the situation.

I'm not saying Martin attacking Zimmerman was in any way justified, at that point he is now breaking the law.

But Zimmerman clearly set the stage for this to happen....Martin should not be dead, the incident should never have happened...and would NOT have if Zimmerman had followed what the police had told hold him. Zimmerman may not have planned this, and he may very well have feared for his life when he fired the shot....but he IS responsible for putting himself and Martin in that situation and in MY opinion should have been held responsible for it.

This is just my opinion based solely on the actions and not attitudes of the people involved.

You dont shoot someone cause u takin a beat down the problem was he was out there lookin for trouble takin the law into his own hands, killed someone and didn't get charged with anything. I believe zimmerman was just asking questions and trayvon attacked him out of fear. Neither person did anything wrong. Both lives crossed paths under the worst circumstances and somebody died. This stuff happens all the time.

This is true...I guess what I meant was someone of 'perceived authority'(?) instructed Zimmerman not to follow and he made the choice to persist.

true zimmerman did set himself up for the situation, but 911 operators aren't police and being a little slow in the head isn't illegal. Martin didn't have to attack him either. both parties involved could have behaved better. the court found the one illegal thing zimmerman did was actually in self defense, so he got off. Martin would have been found guilty of assault. the problem is not the case itself but all these ignorant people who go stand on a street corner protesting a ruling that's already final and can't be changed without a strait up coup without even spending five minutes reading up on the case on a reliable website(not the media). race had nothing to do with it at all b/c zimmerman was also a minority. did i mention zimmerman was also a minority?

You also have to understand zimmermans mindset. He was doing his side job as a neighborhood watch captain because that apartment complex was burglarized a few times in the past 3 or 4 months before the shooting of trayvon.
