happy black history month

Ok, let's look at this in another way. Yes, Africans sold africans into slavery, but... As with any/all tribal commuities, there was the fact

that warring tribes would conquer losing tribes and the loser would become the winners 'property' but after the obligation was met, they loser was offered to stay or go back 'home'. Some stayed, some did not. Now that being said, if things were the same, as they were with slavery here, why would ANYONE decide to stay. Those that did sell their brethren to the Europeans, understood that the situation would be the same. After maybe 3 or ufour generations, the same would be offered. If you are honest, and check the 'TRUE' history, you will notice that only the African, to wit, black slaves, were treated in he capacity as LESS than human. And yes, I agree that this transpired years ago, AND, much has changed since, one must understand the difference. There opportunities that now exist but didn't then. I am black, do not and have never called myself African-American. I am simply an American who happens to be black. I've even spent 12years in the USARMY to prove that this is my home. And it sickens me to see when some of us try to use guilt as a means to overcome. Hard work, integrity, taking care of my family, and teaching my son's the same the same, that's what it means to me, anyway, to be an AMERICAN. Sure, not enough is taught to show the contributions of blacks here, but we MUST accept the things that we have done to ourselves that continue the disparity that exist, even to this day...I am through with the soap box, other than, if youant to be treated as equal, one must ACT as an equal, accepting your own chit, dealing with it, and continue to strive to be the best you can-regardless what you look like, or from whence you came. We are all here now. Come together, forgeting our differences, and embracing our simularities. Now, I'm done.
