.44 mag, Tons of power, great for the wild hogs weve got at the deer lease. .357 mag is next in line for me.
I dont even own a 9mm. I like the mags for hunting big game and also personal defense for the 357 since it is the most effective police handgun round in history. I use a 40sw for range shooting and self defense in one of my primary defense guns. I like the .45 for being nastalgic and will take it out when in the mood or feel like being classy. I think the 9x19 is a good round but I think it is better suited as a plinker or range gun then anything else since its easy and fun to shoot and ammo is so cheap. It would be the smallest defense round I would use if had to. Of course you can get +p or +p+ 9mm loads with alot of power and good expansion but not very many 9mm's can handle that hot of a load with such high case pressure.

45 just b/c i love the colt 45. I mean if a gun is good enough for 2 world wars, and several other conflicts, and still used to this day it is good for me. Other then the power making it hard to be accuret, and the small size clip, i feel it is one of the greatest guns ever.....

I have varied tastes...
I own a Kimber custom target - but that's sitting up in storage in Ely - nearly 6 hrs away from here - as there is nowhere around here I want to shoot at.. My uncle owns a S&W .38 special revolver that while I like, snub nosed/short nosed barrels just never did tickle my fancy enough to make me want to own one.
The only one that is nearby me at home is the 9mm, which is just mainly a standby in case of an emergency I never want to be in - everything else consists of rifles as that is mainly what me and my family enjoy using.
.22 is good for some cheap plinking around

Plane-jane-run-of-the-mill beretta - Cougar S to be specific...
Nothing fancy - just needed something around and found this at a good price from a friend.
Colt .45 is my weapon of choice. Im deadly accurate with it. Its fairly sized but packs a punch. A great feature about it is the firing mechanism that only allows you to fire when the back button is pressed in which is usually from the normal gripping position. Great for pistol whipping without accidental fire, but as we all know, if its man-made, it will fail so its not to be trusted.
Ive shot plenty of 9mms. They dont really float my boat. I cant really put an explination on it other than i think its too weak.
.357 and .44 is just rediculous. Ive never shot either but ive been next to them plenty of times at the range and they scare the shit out of me with inner ear plugs and ear muffs, even when I know its going off. Something like that just shakes the block.
