Israel will not recognize Hamas.....Bush doesnt support terrorists but respects that Palestine is using the democratic tools via election.

Bush has to watch out though....he cant cut of aid to Palestine. The U.S. would look bad and the Iraq campaign would likely turn ugly.

It will force Hamas to grow up and calm down. A successful nation cant employ the tactics Hamas is famous for. I mean look at the Fatah party, they were about the same 30 years ago when they came into power. Now they recognize Israels right to exist and participate in peace talks.

Hamas now has to deal with actually governing a country as well as achieving its political goals in the region. If they want to hold onto their new found power they pretty much have to make some concessions and keep things calm. At least for a while.
