Wow the Low and Jxx or whatever totally misread my post.

A MAJOR release, not a branch from a major release. MW2 could go either way, but with the anticipation and media that its getting, it deserves a COD#. So lets recap since you probably still dont understand:

Major game with games that branch from it get a #.

And the Low, it seems you do care.. enough to continue to read this some other time. Be sure to show you could care less by not adding another post on this one.

And something to think about while you're not caring, you labeled in your own post that call of duty 2 is 3. And the point of all your posts is to show that WaW is not COD5. So to stay true to your point, you must argue that what Call of Duty 2 should actually be called Call of Duty 3, and go against the actual title of the game: COD2.

Oh you don't care. Maybe XX J can try to make the developers change the titles in your place.

its insane...im in the beta now. So many people, so many things to shoot, and so many things blowing up everywhere. yesterday was the first day i played a 256 player map, with 250ish players in it. NO LAG at all...FTW!!!!

I'll only rent it, if that. It's just an expansion that is a 3 hr mini-campaign (friend and I already beat it in three and a half hrs in one sitting) and that's about it. Same multiplayer maps as Halo 3, with 3 new ones added. It's a expansion with a full-game price tag. **** that.

Yes it is. It doesn't have to specifically say COD5 to be the fifth major game in the call of duty series, not one that branched off of a major title either.
Is world at war not the 5th major title in the Call of Duty series? Yes. Hence, it can be labeled cod5.

Either way, I destroy most everyone at 4 and 5 when I have a supporting team.

Plus, fuggin' MvC2 is GDLK and not too bad online. I don't regret selling my PC so I could buy a 360. I'll be building a Core i7 beast in the spring, anyway.
