Hallowing Seat out?

hey, i have a 2006 F150, i was wondering if any one has any experience, or tips with hallowing out the bottom of a seat? Not directly my model of truck but any in general. Im looking to take on this project to allow for more room under the seat so the subs don't hit the seat.

i already have a seat lift and don't want a blow thru, so i am considering this option.

if any one has any info or tips, it is very much apprecaited.
