haha alpine makes a funny

4 or 5 years ago, I remember an excerpt from a Rockford Fosgate amp manual that went something like this: "Please do not install your amplifier in the engine compartment. It is not only very dangerous but you might experience ridicule from your friends." //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

just for you n00blet

We know you're reallly excited about tearing into this package and gazing at your W6v2 in all its glory, but we need to amke you aware of just how precious this carton is.

In the rare event that your W6v2 requires factory service, it will need to be shiped back in this package with all of the packaging materials (just the way you recieved it). A W6v2 is simply too massive to ship without this protection and we don't want to receive an empty box with a big W6v2-shaped hole in one end. We can't turn an empty box into a W6v2 and we can't straighten aluminum baskets or replace broken magnets. Pysical shipping damage due to improper packaging will not be covered under warranty and is not generally reimbursed by the shipper

WARNING: Because of its mass, care should be taken when lifting, handling and installing this product (it will break every bone in your foot if you drop it)

lol, were they really that big though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I was at Pep Boys getting my wheels aligned the other day and while there I was looking at their "audio" section.

Within said section was a Lightning Audio 1 farad capacitor which said something along the lines of the following on the package:

If you connect the negative (ground) connection to a 12v positive source not only will you have entered the realm of criminally stupid this capacitor will likely vent and destroy itself and you will not be eligible for repair or replacement under the written product warranty.

This isn't exact wording but it's close enough for you to get the general idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I did, however, find it a bit ironic that there would be anything on the packaging for a 1 farad cap (priced @ $119.99 !!!) regarding criminal stupidity....

Ever seen a capacitor blow? You don't wanna be near the guy who explodes a whole farad cap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The SoloX manual has some comedy about lifting the subwoofer. Not gonna go find it, search for yourself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've never seen it myself but I have been told stories about one of them going and flinging internals EVERYWHERE. The only reason I even own a capacitor is because it was a raffle win (and now sits in the closet collecting dust)

Audiocontrol's is the best!

For level setting your Audiocontrol's processors.

"Unhook all RCA's going into your amps. At this time you shouldn't be hearing and sound. If you're hearing voices, go see a doctor. If they fail, go see an exorcist."

LOL
